Mediacorp, bastion of originality.
I saw the sneak to their new drama series "Masters of the Sea 2" Red Thread and i thought, hmmmm, perhaps there is potential in this one.
That is until i saw the trailer. If you happen to chance upon this trailer while you innocently traverse the free to air tv landscape, do pay attention to the camera angles, editing and Billy Cogan's snarl.
Now where did we hear the slowed down version of Smashing Pumpkin's "The Beginning is the end is the beginning?" Ahhh yes, The Watchmen trailer. Same shots, same song, same slow-mo poignant pans. From the movie adapted from Comic God, Alan Moore.
I didn't know Zack Synder was working for Channel 5.
Makes one wonder,

Today i learned that
1) Hearing a chorous of children singing ever so passionately Tori Amos' and Crowded House's music invigorates the soul and gives me hope that the future is not all dumb and packaged.
2) Teachers who teach these children must have a louder voice because they are doing society service beyond measure.
3) Passion Pit is a fantastic new band.
4) I want Private Universe by Crowded House to be one of my wedding tracks.
5) Age is no barrier to having a ball of a time. In fact, the older one gets, the less inhibited one should be.
Today, I learned that there may be hope for the human race yet.
